JENNY ANDERSSON: KEYNOTE LECTURE AT WELFARE IN DANGER? SYMPOSIUM
The lecture is part of the upcoming symposium Welfare in Danger? Infrastructures, Institutions, and Environments in an Age of Risk, at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study in Uppsala. Organized by Jennifer Mack, Elisa López Koch, and Alejandra Navarrete Llopis, the symposium focuses on how histories of welfare provision (in social programs, services, housing, energy, public space, and more) connect to today's concerns about climate change, rising nativism, and demographic transformations that challenge the content and meaning of “welfare.” See below for further information about the lecture.

We are very happy to announce the public lecture, Neoliberalism, Social Democracy and What Comes After - Historical Perspectives on Current Times, by Professor of History of Ideas Jenny Andersson.
Abstract
Her talk focuses on a small group of companies in the Business Fund (Näringslivets fond), created in Sweden in 1940 and growing over time into an advocacy network of Swedish multinational companies with both domestic and transnational inscription. She will argue that through the prism of the Fund, we see Sweden's political history, and future, differently.
Bio
Jenny Andersson is Professor of History of Ideas at Uppsala University. She is the author of academic works including The Future of the World: Futurology, Futures Studies and the Struggle for the Cold War Imagination, and several high-level articles including the review essay "Just Out of Our Reach" in Modern Intellectual History and "The Future as an Object of Knowledge in the Humanities and Social Sciences" in the European Journal of Social Theory.
